As a brand ambassador at the Balkan eCommerce Summit 2025, what are you most excited about, and what do you hope attendees take away from the event?

Sinan highlights the event’s groundbreaking nature. “Balkan eCommerce Summit is a first on so many different aspects,” he begins. “It’s the first large – scale eCommerce event in the Balkans and one of the biggest in Europe. This event reaches so many people and countries; it’s almost single handedly globalizing the ecommerce industry. Also the partnership opportunities it offers both for the attendees and the sponsor companies are immense. There are so many more bullet points to be counted but I keep them for my social media posts. 😊”

Q: What attracted you to this role, and what mutual value do you anticipate this collaboration will generate?

Sinan reflects on his passion for collaborative growth. “I absolutely love mutual efforts to help ecommerce thrive globally,” he explains. “I instantly clicked with Nikola since the first time we met. His vision on ecommerce and the future of this business is completely aligned with my vision. Also, I’m extremely excited to be a part of this perfect experience. I see it as a WEEK. Not just two days.”

Q: Customer experience is crucial in eCommerce. What approaches do you recommend for businesses to enhance customer engagement and loyalty online?

Sinan emphasizes that customer experience is the cornerstone of success. “Exactly! I think creating a flawless customer experience is the one tool to rule them all for our marketing plan,” he begins. “It’s the shortest way to make our customers our brand ambassadors without even asking them to be one. When it comes to how?”

He breaks it down into actionable points:

“Make your customers part of the process. Give them something to decide about your business. Engage them.”

“Provide the ultimate luxurious experience even if your prices don’t resonate with that.”

“Get yourself out of the boring sheep pack. Do something different to surprise your customers. Of course, put some gifts along with the order but I’m talking about something beyond that.”

“Create the Apple – like unboxing experience for all of the orders you ship. Even the tiny ones.”

“Ask your customers how you did after the order and delivery processes.”

Q: How do you believe technological innovations like AI and machine learning will impact the eCommerce landscape in the coming years?

Sinan reflects on the dual nature of technology in eCommerce. “eCommerce is a sport for men and women. AI and ML will ease our day to day activities and routines,” he shares. “But code blocks without feelings can’t create the customer experience which we talked about above and this experience is almost the 50% of the sustainable sales development for an ecommerce business.”

Q: Cross-border commerce is gaining momentum. What opportunities and challenges do you foresee for Balkan eCommerce businesses expanding into international markets?

Sinan highlights the region’s unique potential. “The Balkans are sitting on a goldmine of opportunities in cross – border eCommerce, with their handcrafted treasures, affordable production costs, and access to massive international markets – all while enjoying a little EU funding on the side,” he explains. “But it’s not all rakija and roses; challenges like high shipping costs, tricky tax rules, and the occasional alienation to Balkan qualities from Worldwide customers can make things bumpy.”

He shares his advice: “The secret? Lean into your charm, tell great stories and create perfect experiences with your orders, and maybe create a unique Balkans eCommerce ethos. Also wars and conflicts are creating an opportunity too for the more peaceful lands like the Balkans to dominate cross – border commerce.”

Q: What role does mobile eCommerce play in your vision for the future, and how should businesses adapt to the increasing use of mobile platforms by consumers?

Sinan stresses the dominance of mobile platforms in eCommerce. “I think eCommerce has already become fully mobile,” he says. “I don’t consider any other device as separate. Even the PCs are mobile now.”

He elaborates on the diversity within mobile platforms: “But it differs within mobile as traditional self – hosted web sites, marketplaces or shopping – ready social networks such as TikTok etc. Businesses should adapt to attract infinitely scrolling customers to buy something in between video contents, streaming platforms, inside games etc. eCommerce brands should put themselves wherever their customers are.”

Q: Finally, what advice would you give to emerging eCommerce entrepreneurs in the Balkan region aiming to make a significant impact in the industry?

Sinan shares an inspiring message for entrepreneurs. “Just put the energy and uniqueness in your genes to your business, make it an extension of your soul and perfect your operation in every way possible,” he advises. “You should know what people are seeking. Answer them with a bomb of desirable experience to create an overnight fame and support this fame with your perfect service.”
