What inspired you to become a Brand Ambassador for the Balkan eCommerce Summit 2025, and what excites you most about this event?

Becoming the brand ambassador for the Balkan eCommerce Summit 2025 was a natural choice for me because I genuinely believe in the immense potential our region holds. The Balkans share so much culturally and economically, yet fragmentation has kept us from reaching that potential. eCommerce is the perfect catalyst to unite us quickly and efficiently, without getting entangled in the usual political hurdles. It’s all about connecting people who are ready to innovate and grow together.

I’m most excited about bringing together passionate professionals from across the Balkans to spark collaborations that transcend borders. I hope attendees leave the summit feeling inspired and empowered to harness eCommerce as a tool for regional unity and growth. Let’s turn our similarities into strengths and build a more connected and prosperous Balkan region.

What challenges and opportunities have you encountered in the Balkan market compared to other regions?

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced with Aladini.al in the Balkan eCommerce market is the small size and fragmentation of our markets. Each country is seen as separate, with its own rules and systems. But the truth is, we are very similar in many ways.

This division doesn’t make economic sense. We have hardworking people, but because our markets are small and divided, we produce less than we could if we worked together. This mindset of separation and strong nationalism has kept us from aiming for the global market. There’s no real obstacle stopping us – except our own way of thinking. I believe we have a great opportunity to unite, overcome these challenges, and reach a wider audience together.

How do you introduce innovations like VR, AI, and big data to established companies, and how do you see these technologies transforming consumer behavior?

One of the biggest challenges I face when introducing VR, AI, and big data solutions to established companies is the rapid pace at which the world is changing. In the next five years, we will see shifts in the business landscape unlike anything we’ve encountered before. Many people don’t fully understand or take these technologies seriously, making it tough to convey their true potential.

To overcome this, I’ve found that the most effective way is to let customers experience the technology firsthand. When they try our new products, some are initially overwhelmed by the significant results they see, while others are amazed by the potential impact on their company. This direct experience helps them grasp how VR, AI, and big data can transform consumer behavior by creating more personalized and engaging experiences. It’s all about helping them see that embracing these innovations now is essential for staying ahead in a rapidly evolving world.

Can you share an example of pivoting your business strategy in response to market changes?

In the digital age, adaptability isn’t something you tap into just once – it’s a constant state of being. For me, it’s not about a single time when I had to pivot my business strategy; it’s about always having a clear vision and then starting the journey knowing that obstacles will arise. When they do, I pivot and keep going.

The world is changing so rapidly that it’s unrealistic to think we can predict exactly what will happen tomorrow. That’s why I try to make predictions, but I also stay alert to what’s different from what I expected so I can adjust accordingly. I’ve learned that being flexible and ready to change direction isn’t just helpful – it’s essential. This mindset of continuous adaptation is, I believe, the only way to move forward successfully in today’s ever-changing landscape.

How do you tailor your eCommerce strategies to the diverse Balkan markets, and what advice would you offer to businesses expanding into Albania?

While the Balkan region appears diverse with varying levels of digital adoption, in reality, we are quite similar. The faces and trends might change from one country to another, but the fundamental ways of doing things remain the same. In our region, including Albania, progress often happens through personal connections – knowing someone who knows someone else to get things done.

When tailoring eCommerce strategies, it’s important to understand this cultural aspect. My advice for businesses looking to expand into Albania is to find a local partner who shares your vision. Align with someone on the ground who has the same goals and the right incentives to help you succeed. This person can navigate local nuances and help bridge any gaps, making your expansion smoother and more effective.

What trends or developments do you foresee shaping Balkan eCommerce in the next few years?

Looking ahead, I believe that the Western Balkans will become a major focus for growth, acquisitions, and investments in the eCommerce sector over the next few years. This region stands out in Europe because it hasn’t been dominated by any major players yet, unlike other countries. This means there’s a unique but rapidly closing window of opportunity for businesses.

As for me, I have stepped down from my role as CEO of Aladini to create a new international company focused on the new frontiers of Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence. I’ve realized that while the world is vast, we often limit ourselves to our small countries. Now that I have this clarity, I’m aiming not just for the region but for the global market. My contributions to the Balkans stem from living here and caring deeply about the region, but now I earn as a global citizen without border restrictions. I believe others can do the same by expanding their vision beyond local boundaries.
