Albanian E-Commerce Association (AECA) was created as a private initiative of some of the most important actors in the e-commerce industry in our country. This initiative matured over time and became concrete in February 2022. Over 25 operators from sectors various e-commerce companies in the country gathered together in an extraordinary event, joining forces to establish the first e-commerce association in Albania.
The creation of this organization by the founders aimed at lobbying about the main problems faced by this industry and addressing them to the competent institutions in order to increase the volume of online trade at a fast pace. The development of e-commerce not only has a positive effect on the increase in trading volumes, the reduction of fiscal evasion through the reduction of cash in the economy, but it is also expected to make the Albanian economy more vibrant and competitive in the region.
The idea of creating an association which would gather under the same umbrella the operators of this growing sector of the Albanian economy, was also supported by various donors and partners, who are active in the development of free trade at the national and regional level. such as GIZ, USAID, ABSL Albania, Aladini and Vigan Group.
