Imagine a place where the air buzzes with possibility, where professionals from 23 countries become partners, and where ideas spark into life-changing deals in just 48 hours.
That was the magic of the Balkan eCommerce Summit 2025, held on April 29 and 30 in Sofia, Bulgaria. This wasn’t just an event – it was a movement, a vibrant tapestry of 2,330 dreamers, doers, and visionaries weaving the future of ecommerce and digital marketing together.

Walking into the summit, you could feel the energy. Over 100 exhibitors, from giants like Amazon and Mastercard to innovative startups, filled the expo hall with a hum of excitement.
The FedEx Networking Zone, with its 100 dedicated tables, was a whirlwind of handshakes, smiles, and bold ideas. The guests were ready to talk! More than 11,650 business meetings were held seamlessly in the networking zone, inside and outside the expo area – each one a chance to turn a conversation into a collaboration.

Thousands of meetings translated into real partnerships, with contracts inked on the spot. Dr. Nikola Ilchev, the summit’s founder, summed it up:
“We built a platform where the Balkans don’t just talk business – they do business. I can now officially say that the Balkans speak one language, and it’s called Balkan eCommerce Summit,” shared the founder, Dr. Nikola Ilchev.
Those numbers are impressive but still fail to measure the real effect of the event on the long-term growth of Balkan businesses. The results of the deals that were made will keep unfolding over the next couple of years and truly there is no way to measure the impact of this event.
You could definitely feel it, though: days after the event, emails with gratitude are filling the team’s inboxes.
“Thank you so much for inviting me as brand ambassador! I’ve met so many wonderful people and made three deals in two days, next year my company is coming back with an expo booth!”, said Bogdan Shkarupa.

The first day was a kaleidoscope of insights. Four stages hosted over 40 speakers, from Bulgarian trend-makers to global icons. Topics like AI, cross-border trade, sustainability, and digital transformation weren’t just discussed – they were dissected with passion and purpose. When representatives from Meta, eMAG, and Aleph took the stage, the room crackled with inspiration. These weren’t dry presentations; they were stories of triumph, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of what’s next.

“I had so many people reach out to me after the conference yesterday and even today to thank me for giving helpful information. I was impressed by how receptive the crowd was!”, shared one of the speakers on day 1, Stefan Chiriacescu.

And then, as the sun set, the Balkan party lit up the night. Live music pulsed through the crowd, laughter echoed, and glasses clinked in toasts to new friendships and bold plans. It was a moment of pure joy – a reminder that business isn’t just about deals, but about the people behind them.

Day two brought global heavyweights Jeff Hoffman, Martin Greif, David Henzel, Ahmed Hassan, Pascal Brochier and Ken Kralick who arrived in Sofia especially at the invitation of Nikola Ilchev, PhD for the Balkan eCommerce Summit 2025. Each of them tackled growth, digital transformation, and leadership in a unique way that kept the audience mesmerized..
Their insights weren’t theoretical – they were blueprints for scaling in a competitive world.

A standout moment came when Dr. Ilchev unveiled the Balkan Business Club, a year-round platform for collaboration. “This is the natural continuation of Balkan eCommerce Summit, which happens only once a year, while all our partners and participants need regular, more practically oriented communication, tailored by country. That’s exactly what our new club will do,” added Dr. Nikola Ilchev.

The Balkan eCommerce Summit 2025 wasn’t just an event – it was a spark. And if the past couple of days are any indication, that spark is about to set the Balkans ablaze.
Embassy reps, industry leaders, influencers, and media mixed with hungry entrepreneurs, forging a network that transcends borders.
LinkedIn posts from attendees tell the story: “Closed two major deals in one day,” one wrote. Another posted, “The insights from #BalkaneCommerceSummit is already reshaping our strategy.”
With 2026 dates already announced, the summit is cementing its place as the go-to platform for ecommerce in the Balkans. If you’re serious about growth, this is where you need to be. Deals, ideas, and partnerships – it all happens here
