On September 24, Balkan eCommerce Summit joined eCommerce Talks in Bucharest, organized by easySales, for a day of new connections, conversations, shared insights and meetings with some of the people shaping the digital commerce landscape in Romania and across the Balkans.
The participation was another step in Balkan eCommerce Summit’s mission to build a connected regional ecosystem that goes beyond borders and beyond the two days of the annual summit in Sofia.
Romania has long been an important part of the Balkan eCommerce Summit community. In Bucharest, the team had the opportunity to reconnect with long-standing partners, meet new companies and professionals, and spend time with the Summit’s Romanian Brand Ambassadors, who help build the bridge between the local market and the wider Balkan business community.
Meeting the Community in Bucharest
At the Expo Zone, visitors could discover what is coming next for Balkan eCommerce Summit, learn more about the 2027 edition and explore the initiatives the team is developing throughout the year.
But more importantly, the booth became a meeting point.
Partners, entrepreneurs, eCommerce professionals and new contacts stopped by for conversations about their businesses, the Romanian market and the opportunities that stronger regional cooperation can create.
And there was popcorn, too.
A popcorn machine at the Balkan eCommerce Summit booth quickly became an additional reason to stop, meet and start a conversation, bringing an informal and social element to a day focused on business and new connections.
Listening to the Romanian Market
One of the key initiatives presented in Bucharest was the Balkan eCommerce Survey 2026 – Romania, designed to collect current insights directly from the companies and professionals operating in the market.
Visitors could participate directly at the event through a QR code and share their experience, perspectives and expectations for the development of Romanian eCommerce.

The results will be analysed and compared with the 2025 findings, providing a two-year perspective on the evolution of the Romanian market and identifying changes in priorities, challenges, trends and opportunities.
Romania is part of a much broader regional research initiative. In 2026, Balkan eCommerce Summit is gathering insights from multiple markets, helping build a clearer picture of how eCommerce is developing across the region.

The ambition is not simply to look at individual countries separately, but to better understand the Balkans and the wider CEE region as an increasingly connected business ecosystem, where companies, technologies, knowledge and partnerships move across borders.
From the Expo Zone to the Stage
Balkan eCommerce Summit was also part of the conference programme at eCommerce Talks.
Nikola Ilchev, the Founder of Balkan eCommerce Summit, moderated the panel “The inbox is the last channel you own”, featuring Rares Banescu, CEO & Founder of theMarketer; Alex Danchenko, Co-Founder & COO of Yespo Omnichannel CDP; and Bogdan Zaharia, Co-Founder of Data Revolt.
The discussion explored email as one of the few communication channels that businesses can directly control and examined its role in building sustainable relationships with customers in today’s increasingly fragmented digital environment.
The stage participation added another dimension to Balkan eCommerce Summit’s presence in Bucharest, not only meeting the community, but actively contributing to the exchange of knowledge and experience within it.
One Region. A Community That Meets All Year Round.
Bucharest is part of a bigger journey.
Balkan eCommerce Summit is evolving from an annual meeting point in Sofia into an active year-round regional platform, connecting companies, experts, communities and markets across the Balkans and beyond.
Being present where the local communities meet, in Romania, Bulgaria and across the region, is an important part of that mission.
Because cross-border growth starts long before a company enters a new market. It starts with knowing the people, understanding the ecosystem, exchanging knowledge and building relationships across borders.
The next major meeting point will be Balkan eCommerce Summit 2027, taking place on April 20-21, 2027, at Inter Expo Center, Sofia, under the theme “Cross-Border First.”
The 2027 edition will bring the regional and international community together around one central idea: helping businesses think beyond their home markets, create stronger regional partnerships and turn the Balkans into a connected gateway for international growth.
The community is already moving across borders. See you at the next stop.
